Schools:
School-based Mental Health First Aid Training:
Building a more aware, strong, and supported peer community, Unplug and Connect is certified to offer the nationally accredited Mental Health First Aid training from the National Council of Mental Wellbeing. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based, early-intervention course that teaches participants about mental health and substance use challenges. It is delivered both in-person and virtually (or combined) to local community youth and the adults that support them in an effort to reduce risk of long-term mental health conditions and prevent acute crises. Unplug and Connect uses creative, experiential methods to deliver the standard course in a way that truly engages!

Experiential Education Consultation:
Unplug and Connect offers consultation for our school and community partners to add experiential modalities into the delivery methods of established programs. Examples include, assisting teachers with experiential delivery of lesson plans, developing creative and engaging staff trainings, and general program development with an experiential lens.

Afterschool Parent-Tween Social Hour:
An experiential afterschool program for parents and tweens using recreation therapy modalities to prevent future mental health challenges. The afterschool program focuses on improving family social-emotional skills while having fun and forming new friendships. This program is embedded in school-settings in partnership with school-counseling programs.

Parents:
Learning Through Love and Logic Parent Program:
Unplug and Connect is trained to offer The Love and Logic Institute’s research-driven, whole-child philosophy parenting program. Learning Through Love and Logic Parenting is dedicated to making parenting and teaching fun and rewarding, instead of stressful and chaotic. We provide practical tools and techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children.

Sex Ed for Parents of Tweens:
Bridging the gap between school-based information and parental responsibility, Unplug and Connect will walk you through the “tough conversations” with levity and age-sensitive approaches. Get started now and work to set the stage for healthy aware teenagers.

Substance Use Education for Parents of Tweens:
As requested, Unplug and Connect is now offering our parenting class for educating your child about substance use behaviors. Step into your role as support, educator, and role model with our help. Making the tough talks a little less uncomfortable and confusing, we’ll guide you on appropriate information for your child’s level of maturity, preparing them for the challenges of middle school.

Community Agencies and Clinicians:
Training for First Responder Groups:
Jamie has been delivering mental health trainings for first responder groups since 2020. Groups are designed to meet annual mental health requirements, train new recruits, and provide updated information from national organizations on current issues facing first responder communities. Delivered through the Unplug and Connect model, trainings are interactive, engaging, and informative. With expert knowledge and relatability, Jamie is aware of the level of trust required to impact and support our community partners.

Experiential Trainings for Clinicians:
Unplug and Connect offers trainings for other mental health clinicians to help develop experiential skills. Not all trainings programs are created equal. Are you curious about how to make your group therapy sessions more engaging, more effective, and more fun? We will teach you easy skills, games, and ideas that you can confidently implement into your sessions!
